I love singing, I love speaking in public and giving advice. In my local choir, I was one of the best choristers, I always tried my best to sing wonderfully well and I did sing well, wonderfully so.
But once in a while, I’d get hooked, unable to perform. This usually happened unexpectedly, never gave me time to prepare for it, it was always so sad.
On the days that the whole choir will be expecting an amazing performance from me, I’d start singing nonsense because of the holes and gaps in my tooth.
It affected me so badly, not just in my singing but it also hurt me randomly. Not to talk of when I was trying to present some kind of public speech.
I’d embarrass myself and my mouth would just start… I’d rather not give all the gory details, so you can keep reading.
I was tired. I was done with this teeth problem so I decided to visit a dentist, I used almost all my savings to book a consultation with the dentist, I just wanted to know what was causing this terrible thing, so I could fix it once and for all!
I didn’t expect the dentist to tell me that I needed braces.
I mean, I knew my teeth wasn’t well arranged, I knew I needed to get braces to put them together but I also knew that I would never be able to get them because they were so expensive, I felt I could live with my teeth like that.
Who would’ve thought that my crooked teeth would start affecting me when I talk, sing and even when I breathe?
I begun to leave. I didn’t bother asking the dentist the price of the braces I needed, I knew I couldn’t afford them. But he stopped me.
“Don’t you want to know the prices? Just so you can get them in future?”
“I mean, I don’t know.” I replied, unsure.
“Well, just tell me then. Tell me the price of the cheapest set of braces I could possibly buy that will actually fix this problem once and for all”. I was tired of my teeth problems.
He replied but I couldn’t believe what I heard, it was worse than I expected. Much worse.
“Thank you”, I sadly smiled. Then I left, never to return again.
I might’ve not been able to afford the braces I needed but my teeth problem didn’t come to an end just because I didn’t have money. Oh no, not at all.
Actually, I think it has become much worse and I need those braces now more than ever and this is why I’m begging for braces.
Braces are dental tools that help correct problems with your teeth, like crowding, crooked teeth, or teeth that are out of alignment. Many people get braces when they’re teenagers, but adults get them too. As you wear them, braces slowly straighten and align your teeth so you have a normal bite.
I hope my sad story touches you and you will help me get my braces so my teeth can become better.
Thank you.
